Annual physical

Hi Lainey, yes they tell me it is an unspecified infection in the intestine and may take 1 - 2 years to go away. Meanwhile, 16 - 20 Immodium a day and some prescription pills, are the best I can do.
I can't wait for my general physical next month. The change from a 36 inch to a 32 inch waistline is pretty noticeable. Heck, I may be down to 30" by then. I have not looked up the ideal weight for 6'2", but at 164, (just realized I have lost 50 lbs. not 40) I think I would be below the obese rating.
The good news is my blood pressure has dropped low enough, he may be able to take me off the medications.

although I had a digestive infection around Easter for a week, and I'll agree no fun.
Have you sought out a specialist in foreign diseases?

I've never had a stress test and last EKG was a long while ago, but no cholesterol issues or family heart disease, so maybe it's not needed, or should I ask if it's needed?

at the very least it is a baseline reference for future events.
Especially since you crossed through menopause your body chemistry is now different.

Did mine for the year, Including the part where the Doc gets to know you in a very special way!
My million mile checkup went without a hitch.
Exactly, Lainey. For most people, it is not reasonable to receive an in-depth physical every year. But periodically such ones are needed, especially for those with compelling family history. Some companies will pay for them for executives, etc , but most insurance companies won't.
Right now as I speak my MIL is immenent. I saw her three weeks ago, and she seemed relatively fine. She had a chest CT and plain film last September and a darn good physical with a chest X-ray in February. She has a 3 inch non-small cell primary tumor in the right lung with metastasis outside of the chest. She was diagnosed less than 3 weeks ago. She is in hospice care, on O2, able only to mutter, has not eaten or consumed fluids for 3 days, and staring open mouthed and gasping for air at the ceiling. Really sad for a really good totally unselfish and caring human being. Her doctors cannot believe this massive occurence / slide is even medically possible. She's almost 85 years old and has had a good life. Ask the oncologist regarding how long such a tumor would take to grow to such size and he said upwards of 20 years or more. Checking her medical records, I found 3 chest CTs and 8 chest plain films from the last 3 years alone. You figure what happened here. Chose your docs weel, I say.

I'm still in the hot stage right now, but thanks for the reminder.

I will be asking my regular doc about that, when I have my check up. My microbioligist (SP?) BIL says I probably have heavy metal poisining.
Who knows? I have had many interesting suggestions from the +1. She got her medical degree on the net
