This might be the source of such a coalition of countries necessary to defeat the Islamist terrorists. Although I don't see the U.S. joining until we ourselves are attacked, sadly.

^ Yep. I'm not staying cooped upside waiting for something to happen, though. Life is too short.

True, MsP. I suspect an attack on US soil any day now but not necessarily in DC.

The terrorist will attack one of our big cities or a major event as that is where they can get the largest body count. Because of where I live this should not be a problem, but for those who live in DC, NY,LA or any other big city please be very aware of who are around you.
My fear is that some crazy person at a mall, movie theater or school will open fire. This is why I carry a gun!

You should add that you were a trained as a police officer. I have no issues with skilled normal people but its the borderline people who see evil behind every door that worries me.

9/11 wasn't an attack? It was the worst terrorist attack in history! Now DC is being threatened. What the hell does it take. Russia can jump in too after the terrorist bombing of their passenger jet!!

I should have stated that differently to say "it may take another attack on the U.S." before the U.S. leadership feels the need to intervene.

French President Hollande is coming to Washington next Tues to confer with Obama. I can't imagine the massive police presence that will be in place for that. I'm guessing the city will be on lockdown.
