Unless there is a severe consequence for people who attack our infrastructures including sub stations, we will have issues. Nip it in the bud with life imprisonment or capital punishment.

I don’t agree that the attacks are planned and professional, at least not all. Anyone with a government grudge and a rifle can just drive or hike up to an unguarded station and open fire. Low chance of getting caught.

something about hitting the broadside of the barn. a power substation doesn't exactly require a sniper/sharpshooter.

I agree with you. If they had hit several substations or transmission lines at once that would take planning. To hit one substation takes nothing more than a high powered weapon with the correct ammo and a grudge.
