I do not think Andy Granatelli is dead.
The International Motor Sports Hall of Fame shows his birth year as 1929 but does not display a death date and he was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor this year. I also just watched a new show on the Discovery Channel called Myth Busters. Andy was interviewed during the show and discussed the complications of putting JATO units on a car. The Myth Busters were attempting to duplicate the old JATO Urban Legend.
