The eaglets are lying next to each other and the bigger one looks a LOT bigger. Maybe the smaller one isn't getting enough to eat. Seems healthy, though.

I watched them a bit the other day at feeding time. One was eating like a pig and when the little bird tried to get any food he got WHACKED by the bigger one. Felt bad for the poor little guy/gal.

that happens a lot. It doesn't seem to bother the parents, though. I guess that's just the way of the wild.

Nope...seems to be a part of eagle growing up. I've noticed they are doing less of it. For instance, right now they are having breakfast and concentrating on the food and not each other. I think it's because they are no longer confined to close quarters in the middle of the nest. Their territory has expanded and they are apart quite a bit.

Right now they are huddling in the middle of the nest. It's very windy and the parents are gone. No fighting. I think they are trying to keep warm.

Edit - the parent just returned with a big fish, still flapping. The nest/tree is moving quite a bit in the wind. First time I've seen that.

An abundance of goodies this morning. The second parent just brought another fish, so there are three big fat ones in the nest.

One parent is present now and the babies appear to have full tummies are are cuddled together napping. Their diet seems to consist of more fish than anything else. I know I've seen small mammals/rabbits, etc. on their menu, but fish seems to the main staple. watching these little fellas.
