Being in Canada the best salmon one can get is from British Columbia, wild caught sockeye salmon is by far the best in the world, not farmed. If it is good for the bears it is good for me, lol. There is a lot of atlantic salmon that comes from all over the place and is often farmed. But use whatever seafood you can get locally and fresh. I am increasingly sick of seeing seafood in my food markets from China, India, Vietnam, when Canada has an abundance of seafood, much like the South US and east coast US too. You really need to know where your fish comes from.

Nutmeg is best bought as the whole nut not the ground powder form.
Fine grate at time of use. It is so much more aromatic that way. a little goes a long way.

Made a good ‘haul’ tonight from work. Beef Bourguignon, wild rice, vegetarian stuffed peppers, zucchini, pork tenderloins in mushroom sauce, waffle fries and a piece of chocolate peanut butter pie.

My wife made some New England Clam Chowder. It was quite good with some bacon bits topping.

Not assisted living INDEPENDANT living. There is a difference. They occasionally have a buffet in the dining room and when they do the kitchen staff gets most of the leftovers and they are nice enough to let me help myself.
