We've got you all beat. The mobile home Rick had that I moved into was purchased originally by his brother around 1964. We had a pink refrigerator and stove! The pink refrigerator moved with us to our house in 1985. It was the "beer refrigerator" in our basement for many years. Very manly!

Bill how about pink appliances?

If you were buying a jet engine I'd say ok, but for appliances, I think I'd go with KitchenAid or some other brand.

Thanks for all the responses so far. We have a GE microwave and range in both of our homes now. They have both worked well. Does anyone have consumer reports on GE refrigerators and dishwashers? I see mixed reviews on all refrigerator brands on the Internet.

This GE ranks at the top of all side-by-side refrigerators that CU tested:

GE Profile PSS28KSHSS refrigerator

And this what they have to say about it:

This standout side-by-side refrigerator delivers where it counts, scoring an Excellent rating in maintaining optimal fridge and freezer temperatures, with few warm or cold spots. It’s highly energy efficient, extremely quiet, and loaded with features, including digital controls on the door that display actual inside temperatures. Superb ice-making performance means plenty of cubes at the ready. In CR’s owner satisfaction survey, however, the GE brand receives a Poor rating.

I couldn't determine why the owner satisfaction was so low, however.

Because we are the ones that actually use them!

Our Kitchen has GE Profile Dishwasher and Wall oven/Microwave. We also have a Cafe Stovetop. All were brand new when we built the house (Nov. 2016).

Dishwasher:
Within one month the Dishwasher ruined our brand new hardwood floor in the kitchen. It kept filling with hot water and pouring out, defective circuit board.

Stovetop:
We have spent a lot of money replacing cheap plastic knobs that keep breaking (and this is a Cafe line appliance) In addition at one point the stove wold not shut off, a knob was stuck in the on position. We waited close to a week for the warrant repair. In the meantime we had to turn off the stove with the gas shutoff.

Wall oven / Microwave:
We have not had a problem and actually like it, our son has the same unit and he needed a repair to the circulation fan.

i can’t recommend GE and would not buy another.

ps. Stay away from LG refrigerators too!

will be glad to give you more details, just call.

Jim

I will only buy Whirlpool brand refrigerators. Ours is currently a Kitchenaid and we are very happy with it.
