GPS
Just a note:
Got a flyer from Costco this past week with an ad for a Nuvi 660 $749.99 less $150 ; cost $599.99 (online). I went on line and it was $649.99 less $150; cost $499.99 plus tax and shipping ($536 in my case). Wonder what the cost will be next week ......

Ken, I can't remember if you already purchased one, if so, how do you like it?
Jim/Poks2k has that model. We have the Nuvi 350 and we found it made travel so much easier. It comes in very handy when you are away from home, you can decide on a specific restaurant for dinner, (thanks to recommendations of S2KI friends ) punch in the address and off you go.

So that's the real reason you gals like GPS - another reason to eat out.
As mentioned along the line, we managed many years without a GPS. With maps and Rick's sense of direction, we always got where we wanted to be. We both enjoyed using the GPS on our trip, but won't discount the need to also use conventional maps.........too bad I still can't find my way with those darn things..........
Maps and women do not mix very well. Connie still has huge problems with navigating on paper, but the Nuvi makes it so much easier for her and me.
We have on a couple of occaisions gone out on a drive to the coast, by the usual routes we like to follow. Once there I have the Nuvi set to no highways and we select "Home" and we end up with a pleasant ride around back roads that we have never been on before. It is quite fun and very comforting that you are "never" really lost.

I can look at a map, and select a route, and I'm getting better at finding roads we may/may not want to travel on. However, you don't want to depend on me to get you anywhere unless there is a GPS in my car.

I ordered this one (Nuvi 660) last night ..... for $536 ...
The FM feature is not as good in crowded areas due to the close proximity of fm stations.
I also like the larger screen and the ability to put the camera's memory card in the unit to see pics on a larger screen.
