The hummingbird thread
Once or twice I've on the porch getting ready to hang the feeder after refilling it when a hummer buzzed around the corner headed for its snack. I've just held the feeder out and they land on the perch and drink their fill before flying off like nothing happened.
I didn't realize he was so special, I just knew he was tiny, and he just happened to be a good subject for me that day. This thread has given me most of the hummingbird knowledge I have, so I'm not to up on things. I'm in Alabama if that helps narrow the possibilities.

This is Wikipedia's featured picture of the day:

Hey, Brian, how about you? Do you have feeders at your house? I would imagine if you did you'd get lots of birds.

I've heard that you can eventually train them to perch on your finger while feeding if you first get them used to using a feeder while you hold it, then switch to a feeder without a perch.

When I was refilling my feeders, my honey was putting them back up for me. I think he was still holding it when one came and got a drink.
Funny thing, I have two feeders about 10 feet apart. Normally they are both emptied within hours of each other. Today, one is totally empty and the other is 2/3 full.
