Day 19.
Not only did I survive an evening of pool and beer at a local pub (smoke free...not a puff...not a first-hand puff anyway...the place was pretty smokey) but our team won the match by one game (out of 49).

Sounds like some kind of minor milestone to me.
I should have mentioned in my last post...
One of the things that most helped me get past those brief moments at the bar when I was sorely tempted to bum one was knowing I would have to mention it in this thread. Fear of such a public admission of failure was a real help. Thanks to all of you for your many kind words of support.

One thing that worked for me as I was quitting, was everytime I had a craving, I would tell myself, "I'll just have one tomorrow." Of course, tomorrow never came and after awhile, the craving went away, even as I was having a

During my frequent past attempts to quit I found that most of the time the urge does indeed pass after a few minutes. My trick is to just say "I'm just going to get through today." Sounds like a different shade of the same strategy.
