Good morning! Sounds like the coast got hit pretty hard, I'm hoping to hear from friends near Beaumont, I pray for their safety! We have light rain right now and gusty winds near 60 mph. Just to the south of me, near Bryan-College Station is experiencing hurricane force winds.

Local Houston stations are reporting extensive damage! Widespread power outages and extensive flooding.

Just got a report form Houston, SW side -- no power, rain but no flooding, and no severe wind damage. Whew

Hi, everybody.
Just checking in. We had a wild night.
A tree fell over on our back yard fence and took down the power lines, pole and transformer about midnight. Lots of sparks but no fire. The tree fell back onto the neighbor's house, but did not appear to damage it. So our power will be out for quite some time, alas. No other damage other than Direct TV dish down.

We are all fine; still can't get out because of fallen trees across the roads.

I hope everyone made it through ok!

More, later

So, how exactly are you posting this? Backup generators? Dialup and a laptop?
