Deletaur

My intention here is to share a point of view. I hope to help.:)

Thank you. I agree. I've never handled setbacks very well. My chin is still up and the wind is still at my back.

Last week I took this more seriously. I've been paying attention to limiting carbs and sugars, and have been making sure I'm getting protein in every meal. Finally, I have some success!

I lost weight much more easily in my teens and early thirties than I can now. It's a fact of life and aging. When I was 31 I thought Weight Watchers was the answer because I lost 37 pounds, after having two babies in 1-1/2 years. Right now I think intermittent fasting is the answer. It is not one-size-fits-all for human beings. There are a lot of different ways to lose weight and it is personal. That is the truth and my opinion.

Jordan Peterson is 56 years old, he lost the weight between 55 and 56 years of age. Here he is on Joe Rogan's podcast talking about it. He hasn't gained anything back.

I don't like sharing personal info like this online, but I will tell you that I'm not considered overweight by any measure. And yes, I'm on a version of this same diet, I had to add a few things back because I lost more weight than I wanted to, but I am more fit at the same time.

You're right, there's no one size answer, unless it's Time Restricted Eating. Keep consumption of everything except water to an 8 hour window out of every 24 hours. Dr. Rhonda Patrick at foundmyfitness.com explains the health and longevity benefits of this.

If carnivore is too crazy, and for many without serious health issues [EDIT: it is unneccessary, keto with 8 hour TRE is more practical and IMO desirable]. It doesn't work for some (vegetarian types usually), but it does for many, especially when coming off the standard american diet.

One key to both carnivore and keto, eat until you're full. You don't want to be hungry unless it's in your TRE window, and that goes away after a month or so. I went from eating every 2-3 hours to eating 1-2 meals/day in an 8 hour window. You accomplish this by choosing foods with high fat content and cut out the refined carbs. You lose the cravings.

After football Sunday, a big firm dinner on Monday night with wine, and two buffet style meals yesterday, I guess I should be glad that I’m at 184.0 this morning. Time to drop a couple now.

Y class yesterday, walked three miles too. Kept busy, less sitting. However, I encountered some baked goods during the day.......:banghead:

I'm hungry. Tell me about the baked goods, please. Did they commit suicide in your mouth?

I had an oatmeal raisin cookie after class. Usually I'd just have a beverage, but where I was going next had no "facilities" so I needed to limit liquid intake. Cold air, liquid intake creates an urge...LOL.... And the friend that I walked with brought me two pieces of a delicious spice cake. I ate one and put the other in the freezer.

I made chili today (no bison this time). And also my cornbread with the canned creamed corn. It is so good I had to have some. Chili later. :)

I decided to look at my target of being at 135 for my 75th birthday as Mark did. Maybe I should not have done that. I'm not making the grade. I'm at the limit of what exercise my cardiologist will allow. So, it appears that the target date will need to be adjusted.
