I have been a guest, and now I finally joined. I'll try and post a picture of my car If I can ever figure out how.
Now fro my stupid question. What is your favoirte gear in the s2k? I don't mean to necessarily drive in but maybe to listen to the engine as you wind it up or down. The more I drive the car, the less I llisten to the radio/stereo and enjoy the sound of the engine at work.
BTW, It's a tie for me - I love the response and whine of 2nd gear. In dense traffic, I roar along happily. 6th is the other gear. I don't use it often, but when I do it just takes the car off into another orbit.
Season's greetings
I love the vintage forum.
My favorite is whatever is 1-2 below the current crusing one....b/c I drop down to this one to VTEC
Ex: Cruising along at 50 mph in 4th; drop down to 2nd gear and let 'er fly
If you like the engine sound, have you tried (in the colder weather) taking off the airbox cover Some of the local youngun's convinced me to do it.... and now I'm in luv It really does sound (at least inside the car) like a V-8
My favorite gear seams to be 3rd , but I have the 4:77 rear gear ratio so that makes it close to your 2nd. Give me third gear a sunny day and a windy country road. As for the radio, I agree I don't even use it much. Hardly ever when the top is down. The sound of the engine is music enough for me. I will never spend cash to upgrade the stereo system, but shelling out $ 800 for a rear gear change was a no brainer. I may fall victim to a SC next
Welcome to the club!
To answer your question, I would have to say, depending on speed, 2-4. In town gear 2 to 30 mph then 3 to 40 and then 4 to 50 and up.
On the freeway, gear 5 unless I'm cruisin and then gear 6 to conserve gas. Then again, I don't believe I've had my car in v-tec yet. My car is a 2002 and it only has 7k on it. Yes it's babied.
