The other problem is instant replay- we all spend too much time watching high tech slo mo images to find out if some guys pinky was under the ball . No Official could possibly see this.

Whatever the Official says goes. Would save the whole country a lot of time

Like life- sometimes you get away with something, sometimes you are right and you still get screwed.

I like the use of replay to get the calls right.

I'm relatively new to being a football fan. Started here, on S2ki.com, a few years ago when I was in The Corner Pick 'Em Pool as the dead filler so the Yahoo applet would work. . . but then I did well by the end of the season Prior to that, I would bandwagon in when the Niners (of the Walsh/Seifert era) would make a Super Bowl run. I say that to say this:
I was living in Tacoma for the Testaverde incident. . . and that was flagrant (and I am no Seahawks fan).
I live with a Packers fan, and I witnessed the 2012 Fail Mary against the Seahawks.
. . . and while I love to complain about Richard Sherman, he barely holds a candle next to The Bengals' secondary: Even Tom Selleck couldn't generate that kind of P.I.

If we're going to have "300 lb. guys move like 200 lb. guys," we probably need replay.

. . . we also should have pay-as-you-go and/or pay-for-your-team-per-season via Internet rather than "beg for mercy from the cable company" or "beg for mercy from Sunday Ticket."

Well speaking of the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was a full supporter and #1 cheerleader of Roger Goodell when he was penalizing Tom Brady for a non-infraction.
But now that he guy got suspended for smacking around his girlfriend he wants Goodell's contract cancelled....

huh whudathunkit???

ALLEGEDLY smacking around his girlfriend. Who knows who to believe in these things. I think there are plenty of attention and money seeking women who falsely accuse. But I also think there are many men who still think it's ok to smack their women around. Just an awful situation unless there is evidence to support one side or another in a he-said she-said case. Assault in any form should be punished. But I often wonder how many lives are ruined by false accusations of domestic abuse, just as I wonder how many victims never receive justice because of lack of evidence.

I think Jerry is just as upset by falling ratings, handling of the National Anthem protests, and mishandling of player conduct issues as he is about the Elliot suspension.Jerry does like his money. I suspect the Elliot affair just pushed him over the edge. But then as a Saints fan who is still smarting over "bounty-gate", I may be biased against the Commissioner.

A'men! As someone who can relate. I recall everyone thinking I destroyed a bathroom while in high school. Why? Because I signed the sign-out sheet to go there while taking a shop class. I didn't know anything about it but how do you defend yourself? Whoever did it certainly wasn't going to say, sorry, Dave's a good guy - I did it.
