I might be confused, but are you trying to decide between signing up for COBRA or going on retiree health insurance?

What is the $1450? Is that for COBRA or is that the retiree health insurance before you qualify for Medicare?

You mentioned that your COBRA would be subsidized under your severance package for 13 months, so do you know how much that would be?

Yea, there's a few things. I'm absolutely doing COBRA during the subsidized 13 months. It's like $380/month. I'll also do the unsubsidized COBRA for a few months to finish up 2025. So the question isn't COBRA vs retiree benefits, its post-COBRA, retiree benefits ($1450) vs open market (unknown) for the 7-8 years before Medicare. There's also the if I get a job that provides benefits factor - if I choose that route.

We have Medicare A&B, my wife’s company supplemental which pays most of what Medicare doesn’t cover and a prescription plan which costs us nothing. Plus my VA benefits which cover glasses, hearing aids and long term care. We feel very fortunate.

I'm looking at forming an LLC, I have a project that's coming in hot and heavy in a few weeks.
Suddenly I have to do a bunch of tax research about deferred earning vs retained corp earning.
