JFO has ball in his court right now along with several others. NHIS Track is reserved for 10/9 & 10. www.themargate and Landmark are reserved for us starting on 10/6. This in in south centeral New Hampshire on Columbus Weekend durring peak NE Leaf peeping. Hope he sends in the contracts and opens the sign ups. If it falls through lets go to the Borgata in Alantic City. Borgata has real hot tubs vs. the one in Hinsdale.
Here it is almost July and there is NO solid info regarding FCT06? Or am I missing it? People need to plan their vacations, etc months in advance.
I suggest that one of our CO's post a 'poll' thread.....Let the People Speak!
**Cape May has some strong points....as stated by my previous post (and it's on the ocean for Patty
).....not more than 5-6 hours drive for most of our 'folks'. I wonder if Zippy could check out the Congress Hotel availability for the October weekends
**A Gettysburg 'commemorative' repeat of FC 01 could be neat, but there ARE a lot of events in that area in October....b/c of Gettysburg College and the fall 'Apple Harvest' festivals on 7/8 and 14/15 October. There IS an interesting Auto Rally thing on 10/21
October G-burg Calendar
I might be able to help with either of these, but have some 'date' conflicts that would need to be checked with the +1

Gettysburg was the location for the very first Fall Colors Event. Rick Hesel ran it and might have hotel and drive info.

We probably have to hold back to see if this is actually going to happen before we make any plans, but I'd have thought that for an event like Fall Colors to happen, things should have been resolved by now, and registration should be open. This is the same thing that happened last year.

^ Jerry, are you sure that wasn't the first Spring Fling, not Fall Colors? Or did they both start there?
I think that Fall Gathering planning for vintage should start now.....and just avoid the potential FC weekend, per Nick's 'heads up'. Any hardcore s2ki vintage could always do both events....although only a few would be attracted by the 'track' focus.
I agree with Deb. Can't wait too long if Columbus Day weekend is the weekend we are shooting for, for a Vintage gathering. The Colubus Day weekend has been mentioned before for FC in NH, but unless they have made many arrangements prior to announcing the event, I don't see it happening. That weekend is the traditional weekend for "leaf peeping" in New England, accomodations for a large group won't be an easy task.
As Matt mentioned, many folks need to plan vacation time well in advance. Late planning/announcing of things can certainly hurt attendance as people move on to other things if they think an event is not happening.
I do hope it works out for FC if there is to be a FC, but it seems we don't hear of plans for the event until other events are in the works.

....Another fun idea is the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. It can also be a choice for those folks coming from the south to avoid a lot of driving.
e.g. Lynchburg, Va to Cape May via land route: 367 Mi.
Lynchburg to Lewes Del (Ferry Terminal) 297 mi. (Granted still far but much less driving).
Here is a link to Cape May's site. http://www.capemay.com/

www.themargate and the Landmark have 100 rooms reserved for the Honda s-2000 club for Columbus weekend starting on 10/6 along with a welcome reception room for Friday night and a banquet room for Saturday night. The track rental contract for its use is for Monday 10/9 & 10. There are provisions for a special vintage hopipality suite. Please write John, call John and get him to open up registration. These reservations were made in January. Rooms range from $160 -$98 for Friday and Sat. Price at Red Roof (next to track)for Sunday & Monday is $60 per night. It is best I could find for this weekend due to all rooms in New England are sold out for that weekend. Again John needs some proding on opening up the registration. So please PM him.
