I'm with Ms. Val on this one - hope it's a little closer to Texas than Greenland, since I'm planning on driving up (and since the drive each way will last longer than the event!).

Dean, what degree will you end up with after you finish your doctoral?

Bill, have we become more important and that's why we're so busy now? Nah - people have just figured us out and know who the workhorses are.

Won't be watching any baseball - I do the Cliff Notes version on the news. If there is any motorsports on, I may tune into that. We're painting the kitchen right now, so that'll take some of the weekend. We have a Triumph club breakfast Saturday a.m., a British car open house Saturday afternoon, and an employee appreciation dinner for husband's work Saturday night, so there goes most of Saturday. Sunday we'll have to work on the route for a rallye we're hosting mid-November for the Triumph club with hors d'oeuvres and wine at a nearby winery and dinner at our house afterward Just too much going on this year to make Fall Colors, and being a fairly new owner and not knowing how much excitement it generated, I didn't plan far enough ahead this year to take off for it.

We'll be hanging around this weekend, and hope for some nice weather for at least a short ride in the "S." We are not big baseball fans, but have to watch the Red Sox win! Did anyone see Shilling on Letterman?

Even though I've got plenty of time to check out the S2KI sites while at work, October can be hectic. We haul boats for storage and it seems EVERYONE wants their boat out between the Columbus day and the 31st. I even had one customer who was not scheduled, ask "can you haul me before him?" He actually managed to "cut the line" so to speak. Boat people can be even more obsessive than car people! (not my favorite time of year at work.)

It would be nice if Fall Colors is in New England next year!

I've almost decided that I've exercised my Biology gray matter long enough and I already have more degrees in the subject than any sensible human being needs, so it may be a good time for me to try something else.
I'm applying for a candidacy in Philosophy with a focus on Epistemology. I love teaching and academia, but the academic job market is in the toilet here. I miss my native environment, and I think that I'd like to see what it's like on the other side of the lecturn for awhile.

Wow Dean.....
My focus is on Philosophy as well this week. I'm really into Freud. That's because I'm busy planning body paint fantasyfest costumes for the weekend after this in Key West.

It's really hard work but someone has to do it. So if anyone has any ideas we lay them out on a paint program use them for guides and samples. So if you have any thoughts on a good body paint idea let me know.

We do free body painting Thursday afternoon if anyones down there partying like us. Out best idea this year is a girl painted as a bloody tiger...She's traveling with Roy and half a neck and an arm that falls off. Hibiscus boobies are another fun one.

Just thought I'd spice up Bills thread.

Dean
I got my bachelor's degree in philosophy. It was a great major to prepare me for law school. How many other degrees do you have Dean?

Well, I am out as well. FC was GREAT last year, but I have to be on-call Friday and Sunday....so no FC for me.
Your out too Steve? I didn't know that. We will have to make it a point to go next year. My problem was I never liked the distance I would have to drive. I said from the begining that I didn't want to go because of the drive out, so I didn't defend the date on my calender. Some important family stuff came up on the monday after the FC weekend and I decided to stay close to home rather than try to rush back from Pittsburgh on Sunday.

I'll also be working this weekend, with Sunday afternoon spent watching football and the series, hoping the Sox will finally win one.
I think it would be great to attend the FC but the thought of an 11 hr ride from here, in who knows what kind of weather, was too much to take off from work. Maybe next year if it is closer to here we can make it Bill.
Yes, the drive was the biggest nail in the coffin this year. Last year, Rick asked if we would want the opportunity to take our cars on a track. We all said yes. Rick had suggested Watkins Glenn or Beaverun and said he would see what he could get. The Glenn (I was hoping for this) didn't work out.

I wouldn't mind heading down to the DC area for this. The trouble is, to have fun with the cars you have to get into a rural area with a lot of nice roads. Somewhere in Virginia I'd imagine.
