Nobody has been posting here much since the crazy winter weather has gone. We have had cooler weather as of late and it is starting to warm up and we are expecting rain for the next couple of days.

May has been quite strange in southern California. It seems like every Friday it's raining. We don't usually get rain in May. It's been cool for the most part with cool nights. Well, until the heat turns on for a few days. I'm not complaining. I prefer cool over hot. Riding my ElliptiGO is much easier when it's 60 than over 80.

cool and over cast all day.
that is until I pulled out the hose and bucket and planned to detail the toy.
Sun breaks out, clear blue sky and it got hot and humid.
reverse car wash phenomena.

Can I say it? Dare I say it? Summer's here!! Mid 80s today. Top down drive to rural America for the Memorial day parade. VFW, Boy Scouts, little tikes in baseball uniforms, High School marching band, a couple of firetrucks. It lasted 1/2 hour tops! Picked up the chicken BBQ at the VFW and spent the afternoon at my wife's brothers house. Came home and took a dip in the pool. Not a bad day!

My cousin in Texas has been posting video and pics to FB. It looks like a mess down there.

Yes, I'm checking in with Jim and Chris to get an update on Houston. Thinking their house is OK since they are not near water, but just outside the downtown area. Also emailed my friend in Austin. It looks very bad.

Thanks, Deb. Let us know.

Not sure there is much we can do except keep our Texas friends in our thoughts. I heard every big city in TX experienced at least some flooding but no confirmation yet. I also heard the worst of it ran from San Antonio up to Austin, but its hard to believe it could be much worse than the pictures I've seen from Houston.

My +1 Chris went to the Rockets game and by the time she got out of the parking garage the flooding was so bad it took her over seven hours to get home. She and her friend had to park their cars and wade through the deep water the last mile and a half. The water was so deep on our street that the driveway was covered all the way up to the garage door. It was an ocean. But Tara was okay when Chris got home and Nick had made it home earlier ok.
