Cool here today and no complaints. We checked out the gardens (a bit past prime) and the greenhouses at Roger Williams Park, in RI. Also did about a 4 mile walk on one of their trails. Got a little warm, but no where as uncomfortable as some of our more recent walks.
It was lovely in Loveland, Colorado today. Breezy with spme gusts and a high of 74 after a low of 53. It'll be back in the 80s this week. Ricky flies in on Tuesday and we're going to spend three nights in Estes Park in a nice rental house. Good times coming.

Why, Jerry? The water was getting blown on the deck. I will have to disassemble it and come up with a cover for the base when it starts freezing. The pump will have to come out and I bought
a sump pump to get the base down to 1/3".
Jerry, do you have any ideas of something to cover the 4' by 4' base with that's heavy for the ferocious winds, and will keep out rain and snow? There's gotta be something better than a piece of plywood with blocks on top.

Titan would just see a big water bowl. He loves to drink from the streams with moving water.
You could consider a concrete slab or a piece of bluestone.
A 2" thick piece of bluestone that size wouldn't go anywhere. maybe even a 1" thick piece.
It would sit flush on top. and at 16 square feet, that's 1.25 cubic feet at around 8-100 per cubic foot.
I don't think it would move much. You might want to find some strapping young local to move it though.
as Danny Glover said in Lethal Weapon, "i'm getting to old for this shit"

OMG, this has to be the first picture of a sump pump on this site. Ok, maybe one day this week I will tell you my sump pump story from the past week. But not tonight. Patty, we loved Estes Park and spent almost all the time we were in CO there. Enjoy.
Good thing I enjoyed my weekend outside because we are getting slammed with the heat now. Ugh...gonna be a heat index of 105 today. I will be hibernating with the A/C. Relief coming Thurs afternoon.
Heat index approaching 100 around here, higher in the city of Boston. Glad to be in AC. Will take a lot to make the trip to the YMCA tonight. There is AC, but on days like this................
