Serious going on.

The 3-5" of snow is now about 6-7" and it's still snowing with the winter storm warning for our area until 7:00 PM this evening.

Legal Bill and Jerry probably got the dusting, we got the rest.

There is hope that this will be winter's last blast. Temps towards 50 promised for next weekend. I will believe it when I see it.

having my own fun time with the weather event called THOR....which caught me half way thru driving back on the "southern route" from a month in Tucson and back to Philly. hanging out in Little Rock AR for a second day....just arriving here in time to avoid the SLEET storm that hit about 6 pm here last night. snow on top of ice in combination with sub-freezing record low temps is not a good combo for travel on the Interstates. Planning to resume my tomorrow to Memphis/ Nashville/ Knoxville area.....and up I-81 to Pennsylvania.

will get back to Philly in time to help Kathy dig out of todays additional snowfall; she flew home from PHX on Tuesday

Are you driving your Prius? Will it go uphill on ice?

Weather forecasts finally got one right. 8-10 inches here. Been snowing all day. Heavy wet stuff this morning, and just a constant light snow all day since.

We actually got about 50 maybe a 100 snowflakes this morning.
I'm not sure if they actually made it to the ground.
Otherwise it was overcast as the sun really couldn't quite break through.

The weather folks were interviewing a DPW chief a few weeks ago when one of the storms stayed off to the south, Arkansas if I remember correctly.
He made the statement they were treating the roads with 150 pounds of salt per mile. The number stuck in my head.
in the last two days, I've dropped 150 lbs in my driveway trying to get the ice to melt.

and for the record, since I'm on a private well, I really hate to use salt.

Last week I broke up my ice dams. The sun is coming out and the temps this week are going to be above freezing.

Just looked out the window and noticed my fairly new deck has heaved.
