I also must take the blame for this. I washed winter off of my kitchen floor yesterday. I did some spring cleaning in the bathroom too.

I guess I tempted the fates or something, trying to think that spring would actually show up here.
So it is you!

Stop it and stop it now!

The last forecast I saw yesterday was 2" to 8" of partly cloudy today. When will it end??

I do apologize, Dave. I really didn't think cleaning up the messy kitchen floor and putting up clean curtains would have such consequences.

If so Boston will break the record for sure, by 3 feet.

nuttin' to get excited about except writing yet another check to the plow guy.

I thought we were done with the white stuff...nope. Heavy rain today and 4-8" of snow tomorrow. Going to make getting around a mess, and I do need to get around.

Roof started leaking again at 11:00 last night. It was dripping onto the header for a window and then out below the molding and all over the stained wood work. I had to remove the top molding, and then with some creative use of aluminum foil, built a trough directing it in to a couple of buckets. It had stopped by morning. Collected a couple of gallons in the buckets. Wood trim appears to have survived. Damage is minimal at this point, but it is supposed to get to 38 degrees this afternoon, so I suspect it will be leaking again.

I hope the best for you. Roof leaks can cause severe cosmetic and structural damages and are very disturbing as well. A good insurance provider should help with any repairs.

Calcium chloride worked great when placed properly. It kept sliding off the roof, or bunching up, instead of staying in a nice line. I'm also too chicken to climb up on the roof to place it where it needs to be. It is an 8/12 pitch.

Fortunately, at the moment, the damage is limited to ceiling stains and some lifted paint on one wall. Easy fix if it doesn't get worse.

Been spending all afternoon breaking up ice. There are places on the roof that are at least 18" thick! Never gonna own a house with cathedral ceilings and sky lights again.
