They allow fishing at designated freshwater ponds. Keep a very close watch for gators, though.
Also, there's a State park on Lake Griffin where you can rent canoes and fishing kayaks at very reasonable rates.

There is a strong possibility that I will be able to make this bash, after all. Waiting to hear from Bea's sister, who lives south of Tampa. Would only be me attending, after a 2 hour or so drive up to The Villages, while Bea spends time with her sister. Thanks to Frontier Airlines, this flight would be cheaper than the train ride to Bill's Cookie Party! I'll keep you informed.

I think it is great you folks are all getting together. We continue to look for a place in the Jacksonville -St. Augustine area for a month's stay in our price range but we apparently are too late for this winter. Should we find something and it works out time wise we will be there.
She sent you an email, Dean, about your offer of a room. So be looking for it. Not sure she will post here.
