What is wrong with me?
Patty, I feel for you! My doctor told me that all past injuries seem to catch up with us when passing 55. It seems that any joint that was injured in the past has developed arthritis and causing pain. Knees, ankles, and wrists are whats bothering me but Advil and ice packs in 15 minute intervals works wonders. That's 15 minutes on with ice and 15 off, do this three times and you'll feel better. Beth suggested I go to the Steeler training room where I can sit in an ice bath
You've been through quite a lot of changes in a very short time so it could be any number of things. Sound like you're checking things out as soon as they come up so I'm sure you'll be fine once the real culprit if found. Just try to stay on top of everything and try to slow down and relax whenever you can. You have my sympathy and shoulder to cry on if you need it, too.
Okay, now that you've heard my sweet and sympathetic version, here's the real deal:
WELCOME TO MIDDLE AGE!!!!!
Sorry, you know I'm just trying to cheer you up a bit today since I'm up for air again.

If it is humidity, perhaps a de-humidifier may be somewhat useful. I bought one for my ground floor where my son has his room and it has definitely made a difference. I had no idea that de-humidifier would extract moisture from the air by the bucketful. Too much moisture in the air is not necessarily good for you. Just a thought. I hope all works out for you.

While Arthritis might be a cause, wouldn't it be unusual for it to manifest itself in so many places at the same time?
And don't EVEN get me started on what stress can do to a body.
Patty, sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you get some answers and that your issue is a minor one.
I found in the last few years, I have many more aching parts. For the record, I turned 50 about three years ago.
Digging to plant flowers/do yard work leaves my fingers pretty stiff for days. I have a problem with my neck/back of shoulder area which really, really pains me at times. Sometimes it starts up out of the blue, sometimes after yard work or doing something in particular. It seems like nothing over the counter dulls the pain. When it gets bad, I go for a neck massage and that helps. I tried a chiropractor, but don't have much faith in that process, though I know others do. I now keep some prescription pain meds on hand, but thankfully have not needed them.
I
on the humidity thing, especially because you are in a warm area. I know I'm more achy in the cold damp months of winter, but once spring rolls around and warm temps get here, I'm much better. I don't find myself aching on a warm humid summer day, but I will on a cold wet rainy one.
And Granny is right. Stress is not good for the body. If I'm stressed it seems to bring out the neck ache like no tomorrow.....

My bet is arthritis, and the humid conditions make it worse. My MIL has had it for a very long time and I know when the humidity is high she is very much in pain, and all over. It'll be intersting to see what the expert says. Hope you are feeling better.

If your jaw issue persists Kyras, you might want to be screened for having a TMJ. The fancy word is Temporomandibuler joint disorder, basically a misalignment of the jaw.
My wife has this and stress seems to bring it on, she wears a mouthpiece to relieve the pain.
