While Arthritis might be a cause, wouldn't it be unusual for it to manifest itself in so many places at the same time?
I really have only about two things going on at once. The jaw pain and ring finger pain come and go. Only the foot is consistently aching, but it has better days and worse days. The wrist just started after the wax jobs.

I have a finger that I sprained in 4th grade, the same accident that broke my arm. I can tell when it's going to rain when that finger starts to pain. I think dampness brings it out, and maybe that beautiful ocean view has it's drawbacks Patty.

[Bill Clinton voice] I feel your pain. [/Bill Clinton voice]

Something about turning 50 does seem to make things worse somehow. My main complaints are my neck, left shoulder, and both elbows. The elbows get bad enough to require cortisone injections every 18 months to 2 years. Some folks say they hurt but to me not as bad as the tendinitis. This should be a last resort as overuse can cause problems with soft tissue damage.

I get better results with Aleve (naproxen sodium) than any other OTC medications (YMMV).

Ice is usually a good idea but not always. My shoulder doesn't respond well at all but moist heat really helps. Alternating between ice and heat (10 minutes each with 10 minutes between) can work wonders as well.

Hydrotherapy can be very useful too. The jets in a spa or hot tub and the returns in a swimming pool can do wonders if you can get the affected joint in close proximity without drowning.

That's all I've got for now. Good luck.

cooler weather, humidity - sounds like a recipe for aggravating arthritis.

Do you take Chondroitin, MSM, glucosamine or any of that ilk? Might want to start.

Essential fatty acids - Omega 3 and omega 9 can help also.

Your body could be telling you "Hey, I've ben under a lot of stress over the past year". Several good massages and a vacation may help.

Are you taking any calcium supplements? I don't know if it is related but I noticed that ever since I started taking calcium supplements, my joints now hurt more. Just a thought.

Move back to the old town for a couple weeks and see what happens.

Then have more sex. (It may not help, but it can't hurt...unless you are doing it wrong.)

Patty, have you been taking your Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM pills. You and Jonas are the ones who started me on that Snake Oil and I still take 3 a day; it really does seem to help. What it doesn't fix, Jim Beam does.

I thought of TMJ when you mentioned jaw pain. That, as was suggested, to me means stress. You've made a LOT of changes in your life over a really short period of time - perhaps too many to relax, reflect, and enjoy. A lot of people clinch their teeth while they are sleeping due to stress without realizing it. That's why people from West Virginia never have the problem.

Hopefully, it's nothing real serious and you can get back to waxing Jerry's car.

No stress or lack of teeth?
