The doctors initials are a good thing.
it makes sure they are working on the correct side.
I thought he was an artist and just signing his work!

^^ Yes, Patty had the cast & stitches removed today. Her hand looked good, and the (3) incisions have healed nicely. The surgeon stopped by to answer questions, and look at her hand. After removing the stitches, they put butterfly strips across the incisions, lightly wrapped her hand, and fitted her with a removable wrist/thumb brace. She is to call for a PT appointment, and will see the doc again in six weeks (July 8th). The doc said that she should move her fingers and thumb, BUT NO GRASPING OR LIFTING. (<--all caps for Patty's benefit )

I am posting this update because Patty might not have time to do it today. She's planning on attending a car meet in Valencia tonight, then has some appointments in Acton tomorrow. I'm sure she will expand on what I've written here, and have a few choice words for a certain policeman that wanted to chat with her on the way to get her stitches removed this morning.

It was a (sucker) speeding ticket (65 in a 50) descending a long, 4-lane hill near Patty's house. She told the cop she was on the way to have stitches removed, so he hurried and had her written up in just a few minutes.

There are a couple side streets that tee into this street, and those are signal controlled intersections. Her radar dectector was in the NSX, so she had no warning since she was driving her RAV. It's rare that anyone goes the speed limit up and down this hill, and the cops know it's easy pickin's when they show up there. I had better be more careful from now on.

Jerry, I left you a message on your phone. I'm not going to Valencia. I'd miss you too much.

Jerry covered everything, nicely.

My first occupational therapy appt. ( Don't know why it's not PT) isn't for 8 days. In the mean time I can get my hand wet. I may try using my mouse right handed again.
That sounds like a "movement" and not a "grasp", or just a very light grasp.

Patty, kind of one in the same, but different. Since you have to learn how to use your reconstructed thumb, an OT makes sense. When I first started with my issues, the first place was going to assign me to an OT, as they assumed my issue was related to repetitive motion/over use.
