Whats Wrong Corner

Patty, I guess it's good at least to KNOW what the problem is. I'm having a 'sympathetic reaction' b/c my left thumb now has a new sore spot at it's base....in addition to the 'clicking' Guess that I'll have to make another appointment with my hand surgeon....

Re: Surgery: My carpal tunnel procedure last Sept was very easy and now there isn't even a scar I hope it goes as well for you after SF.

I'm still not convinced. I'm really glad I insisted on am MRI. I still have hope that the tendon is just very irritated and can't function. I think surgeons are too eager for someone to cut on.

Patty, I hope you get the answers, info you are looking for with the MRI. I'm sure the idea of surgery of that kind never entered into your thoughts.

Hang in there!

I went to my RA guy today. I now have a referral for an MRI on my knee too. Goodie. I just want to know for sure that RA is the enemy I have to fight, and not some other thing. Not that that's good in any way, but I want to know what I'm dealing with.

I think that is a smart decision, Patty. Best to have all the info you need before you allow a doc to perform surgery. Good luck.

I got a big shot of cortisone and it cleared up the "clicking". My guy called it "Trigger Thumb".

Patty, hang in there. If you can make it I would wait until fall for surgery. The right hand is the shifting hand!! Driving a stick shift with one hand is down right dangerous. I know, I did it.

Best of luck to ya. See you soon!

David-

I already got cortisone shot #1 in early March and it's the trigger finger is better; also the doc told me that it's not something that gets worse....just keeps on clickin' away. I have set up an apptmt on 4/30 to check the new and different pain....will cancel it if it just goes away. My problems are minor compared to what Patty's dealing with

Thanks for your comment

Patty, I'm sorry to see this thread continue to grow as your problems continue to grow. Getting the second opinions with an MRI is smart. And remember the power of attitude, think positive.
