^ Very well, Lainey. I only took a half a Vicodin, at bedtime, all day yesterday. Haven't had any pain meds today, and don't need any. I've got the ice wrap on since I'm left pecking at the computer and the right fingers are swollen. The hand hurts a little but no where near enough to risk barfing meds.
Jerry was my chauffeur this morning to Cars and Coffee. I don't think I'll even attempt to drive until the stitches and this first cast/bandage come off after 2 weeks. That's my son's RSX in the driveway. Kyle, Joanna (his g/f) and Light (their kitten) are here for the weekend.
Looking good! Glad you are feeling better. Enjoy your visit with your son. My grandson was afraid of me today because of the sling. Ally wrote me a "feel better" message in the driveway. I'll try to take a pic.
It's been 10 days since my tendon transfer surgery. I felt well enough two days ago to go to the gym and get in 4 miles on the elliptical. It felt good to be physically tired but I did get my arm a little sweaty, even though I tried to keep the intensity below that level. I thought the sweat got in an incision because my thumb stung for a minute, afterwards. So, I emailed my doctor and asked if it was a problem. He said he wanted me to get my bandage changed, so I guess it was. I get the stitches out in 5 more days.
So, anyone want to see some stitches? I asked the guy changing the cast/bandage to take a picture of the gore for my internet friends...
^Before removal of the first bandage.
^There are three places with stitches; one on top of the thumb, one at the base of the index finger and one on the wrist.
^The doctor who performed the surgery wrote his three initials on my arm, NGH, which is what the other purple stuff is.
Looks good? Healing is good, but I thought it looked like sunburned chicken skin. Eww.
It feels fine. No pain or anything. At first the new cast was really tight. There are lots of layers under there and the stiff part is the resin cast material, to hold my thumb in place. I worked it a bit to loosen the tightness on my arm and then it felt better.
