I'm heading to the elliptical at the gym this morning. Now that I can get this wet, I'm going for my 6 miles of sweaty, iPod-grooving fun.

NO, you haven't! You have your right to complain ... that's part of healing!

Hugs to you and extra hugs to Jerry for taking care of our favorite gal!
RA is a tough disease and you got smacked by it big time. Glad the Vintage support group has helped!

Patty, and don't underestimate how valuable and educational your (and other member's) sharing your thoughts and remedies has been as you went through this. I've passed on a lot of this information to my son who suffers from this disease and I've learned quite a bit about RA because of this thread. So thanks, and feel better faster.

Really? That's cool, Angela. I'm glad to know that this might have helped your son in some way.

Patty, I was talking to a local friend tonight who has RA. She has just endured a ton of tests only to realize her RA medicine and a change in the diet (she thought for the better) was causing many of her problems.

She was at all the appointments and tests and being bounced from specialist to specialist for what should have been something figured out sooner, by reviewing her meds and some adjusting of them.

Keep up your RA research, keep advocating for yourself if you don't agree with the doc, and keep us posted. As Granny said, your info helps others.

Lainey, can you tell us more specifically what was causing her problems? I've never heard of diet messing with RA.

I wasn't diet and RA. Sorry I was not clear. She has several health issues and bad family heart history.. Long story short the Humera caused chest pains, and instead of discontinuing it for a try, she ended up with a ton of tests, including invasive ones.

The stomach issues were two things. She tried a vegetarian diet and had gastro problems, they immediately ordered more tests vs common sense to realize new eating habits could be the cause.

She then told them she had a lot of nausea and got a lot of with no answers. Finally, she left that big PIA medical practice and saw a doc at my new practice. Turns out one of the RA medicines she is on is messing with the acid in her stomach, causing nausea and they are trying a few things to resolve that.

She was very disgusted being bounced from specialist to specialist having tons of testing and getting no where. Her new doc suggested a new RA guy but there is a three month wait to get in!

She found another RA guy who has a PA on staff and an available appointment.

What a merry go round one rides when you have health issues.
