What is wrong with me?
funny that this thread popped up today, I've certainly been thinking about it a lot lately.
I was even thinking of going back and searching for it.
of late I've been dealing with periods of excruciating pain, basically everywhere.
probably need to go see the doc again.

Another friend of mine has Fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia is a condition that causes pain in the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The disorder is chronic, widespread, and can trigger extreme discomfort: even a gentle touch can cause a fibromyalgia patient to experience severe pain.
Souths like Arthritis has come to call. You should see me get up after sitting at my desk or in a chair for a while. Gotta keep moving. Sitting=BAD.
Let the doctor have a look and prod and poke. It can take a while to figure these things out. Keep up posted if you would, please.
Quiet day and was browsing this thread. I remember it well. Vintage was falling apart. We (RC Ryder included, I MISS HIM) were talking about some doctors having tunnel vision, surgeons always ready to cut, etc.
I had posted this:
Rick's third shoulder surgery only succeeded in the repair aspect of the injury, and did not result in giving him any more range of motion of the arm. We had yet another visit with the ortho guy. He told us he could try a muscle transfer. Move muscle from the back of the shoulder up to the top to hopefully replace some of the muscle lost to atrophy, and maybe that would allow Rick more use of his arm.
We asked a few questions. It was a big surgery, a very uncomfortable brace and long recuperation would be involved.....then he went on to tell Rick. "You don't have pain, you can work, you can do most of the things you enjoy, garden, cook, etc. you might want to leave it at that." We appreciated his honesty and the fact that he was not overzealous to subject Rick to a fourth surgery which didn't have a high rate of success.
I still carry that doctor's business card in my purse. If anything ever happens to Rick's shoulder again. I'm calling him.
We never know what life is going to toss our way. Little did I know when I posted the above, that the doctor was so honest with Rick would end up operating on me twice. When I knew I'd need surgery, he was the doctor I wanted. I had to buck the system and change primary care doctors in order to get a referral to see him, but sometimes you have to advocate for yourself.
Like Patty, I've had good results with my medical treatment. Very thankful for that.
Oh and off topic, the medical practice that refused to refer me to the surgeon of my choice has been trying to contact me to have a colonoscopy done. Thanks, but no thanks. I found a new doc for that too and let the local hospital make some money from my insurance company instead of the greedy medical practice that would not give me a say/choice in my treatment for shoulder problems.

A few days ago I stood up after lunch and it took a remarkable a mount of effort to ease into a standing position without exceptional pain.
A coworker asked me If I needed help....
So I finally got off my aching arse and dragged myself into the doctors.
He advised me to stop taking Crestor, or any statins, for a while. We'll see if this helps the muscle aching to go away.

Thank you, Dave.
