Windows 8 Server Software Question
#11
I have some people who are very proficient, I have others who never touched one until they went to work for us.
I have loyal people, I've only let one person go in 25 years. The rest are welcome as long as they want we accommodate them.
Maybe we can set her up with your Dad, she's in her young 80's, she's Italian and can she cook.

well they started my son's first operations training session one minute ago.
I can't wait to hear how that went.
My oldest employee got excited this morning....she successfully put in her own password. She still can't run a mouse very well. She makes good cookies however.

[QUOTE=hecash,Dec 30 2009, 09:00 PM] A small-medium size business typically has an operating system (Windows) for it's servers (current latest version is Windows 2008 Server) and another operating system for the user (client) workstations (current latest version is Windows 7).
There are many types of servers that link and support the users including, but not limited to file, application, database and internet services.
The user, seldom, if ever, directly interfaces or sees any of the server operating system features.

Thanks tony if they mess it up I have it in my plan B file.
Harry My biz runs Microsoft Dynamics RMS with lots of plug ins. The online selling pkg is Nitrosell.
An online sale will check my inv first then if I'm empty and it's not flagged will check the mfg's inv. (starting out with a daily download). If it's there it will generate a P.O. to the vendor, issue a shipping label and packing slip with my info on it and it will drop ship from the vendor. Each vendor is different to some degree in procedure but we're slowly working it out. Our product is very timely and often made in small one time runs like most couture. With a couple suppliers we've set up a "who's got it?" file based on their sales. We have a friends list and we're able to then fill product from other retailers if they have it. Conversely they can get it from me if I have it.

yea I'm on server 2008. They all say the same things about it that you do. There have been a couple glitches but that's typical.
The problem as always is tailoring software to do business my way. The one thing I can't tolerate is compromising a successful operations profile to accommodate software.
Nick, my puter guy and I have been working together for over 20 years. I'm fortunate that his knowledge of my operation is as extensive as it is.
