Confused - Do I really need a PC
If your car is a MY2000 and you haven't done swirl removal, I guarantee you have a ton of swirls and scratches. Do you want them removed?... that's up to you. You seem to be happy so take it back.

Except for the part about taking it back. I think you'll be surprised about how much the look of your car improves after a swirl removal. I always thought my car looked great until I did a swirl removal and then it really looked great.
and my thoughts...
you got the elephant gun- now go shoot some mice!!
i would start shooting mice by using the pc to apply some carnuba over that zaino. if you go with this idea, you would use the least aggressive pad (no cutting action) and i like p21s. i use a rubber glove and drop the carnuba outta the can- rub it on the pad and do small sections. wax the car (lightly) and dont let it haze - buff it out and then do the next section. when i am preparing for the elephants, i finish up with a microfiber bonnet over a lambswool pad for the final buff.
the above will give you not only an improved shine, but also great experience with the "touch" of the pc.
after you have done this you are ready to shoot the elephant and remove all of his swirls!!
since you are happy with your car as is, i think you can do the machine wax and then in a month or so (if you want) do the swirl removal.
the swirl removal is what the machine does best, but if you like your car as is, let the elephant sleep!

I bought my pc cause my car is black and always shows scratches. I have a pearl white car a few years older and I thought the paint was decent, the I used the PC and it really got nice. you can always do the work by hand but the PC makes it that much easier. I pc'd the S today
I think the paint looks better than when I bought it

you can do swirl removal with wax on the car? i applied some NXT about 2 months ago and I thought I had to remove it or wait for it to deteriorate before I could polish again. how long does NXT last anyway?
While NXT does contain some light cleaners, you cannot polish your car with it. You do not have to wait for the NXT to wear away before polishing. The polish will remove whatever wax/sealant is on the paint.
