Help! Tarmac on S
hi everyone,
I ran over a newly binded road on the way to work 3 weeks ago. It was rainning the day before, and I thought it was mud splattered on the side of my S.
But later, I found out it was TARMAC. I couldn't wash it off. It has dried into these lines black slumbs on the side. How do I get rid of them? What product should I use that will not damage the paint?
Please help. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Try this. It works really well on tar and it's safe on paint.

I've used this without incident on several cars. You can read more up on it the 3M website.

A product that I really enjoy using for Tar is a carnauba wax with cleaner in it by a company called The Wax Shop. It cuts right through the tar and it is a carnauba wax, so it is non abrasive and delicate to the paint. I bought it a Kragen some time ago and I can't say enough good things about it...hell, it even took off the goo that was left over from when the PDR guys took the protective sheeting off the car. I have even used it for removing gum off the paint from when my rear tires kicked it up over the rear bumper...stuff just works great
