Default I burned my molding

I know that I need to tape my moldings when working with the rotary buffer.... Last Sunday, I pulled my rotary buffer out and tried to buff some scratches on my hood. One thing leaded to another, I ended up working on my quarter panel and I burned the molding by the soft top. The burned is really bad, does anyone know if there is anything or anyway to cure this?

Thanks,

Tim
