Menzerna / Klasse - A Class Act

Menzerna / Klasse - A Class Act
I have two cars: A Suzuka Blue S and a Black Accord. I've used Zaino on both since they day they arrived form the dealer and there is no doubt about it; Zaino is a good product. Zaino is great but is not the perfect product for me because:
1) In hot / humid New Orleans I really don't like the time it takes for the Zaino to dry before I can remove it. When I got my S 1 year ago, I didn't get to the third coat until evening and ended up having to wait until morning to take it off.
2) No offense but I really don't want to put more than 2 coats of polish / wax on a car (but I did with Zaino anyway)
3) I really did not like to have to mix ZFX (I know this is nit picky)
Back to the subject ... We have never been happy with the finish on the black accord. This is not really the Zaino's fault since the car did not look that great when we got it from the dealer. Even though we told them to do noting but rinse it off and we would take care of the finish (which they claim they did), the car had minor spider webbing / swirls since day 1.
We tried many things: multiple layers of Z5, 3M Swirl remover , Meguiars Scratch-x ( not in that order). But they never seemed to work. Then I read this thread (thanks smspimp):

I followed a similar procedure except I did not use intensive polish Zaino my steps were:
1) Wash Twice with Dawn
2) Clay
3) Wash Twice with P21S Shampoo
4) Menzerna Final polish
5) Klasse All-in-one (two coats)
The car looks GREAT! The finish is not "perfect" because there are still some minor scratches. But I knew going in that I would not get rid of all defects without using Menzerna's intensive polish first. But all the spider webbing / cloudiness is gone!
Zaino would have work as well or better than Klasse but for the reasons I stated above, I was really looking for something simpler. I was not disappointed.
So if you are not happy with your finish, I highly recommend using Menzerna products (available from properautocare.com) and Klasse all-in-one. I will be switching to Klasse on the S next week (probably topped with P21S).

great report, and very interesting as i was about to try menzerna to remove swirls on a car with light swirls.
i was told to first try final (like you did) and then if it didnt get everything to then try the intensive.
btw, i dont agree with your zaino comments- i think you got trapped in the zaino hype. all that zaino really requires is one coat of z1 and one of z2 if you dont want to mess with the zfx or z5. so its really no diff from the klasse (if you are using two coats). in fact you dont remove z1, so to me the zaino would be easier.
still, i will be very interested in your comparison of klasse with zaino. your results wont be completely comparable because of the menzerna with the klasse, but the app/removal will be.
have you used 3m swirl remover? if so, your thoughts on it vs. the menzerna?

One thing that might make the Menzerna easier to use is the fact that it is water based, not solvent based. I have heard that some people have had problems removing the 3M Swirl Mark Remover. I just used mine yesterday and I had to re-learn how to use it. I made the mistake of putting too much water on the pad and it didn't let the compound work properly. Once I got rid of the water in the pad it was OK. I usually use a damp applicator pad for just about everything.
Has anyone used the "new" Zaino that is supposed to have a more attractive shine to it? It is supposed to look more like a carnauba shine, I believe.

Nice - glad to hear the Menzurna worked out for you. I have been extremely pleased with my finish. Definitely go with the P21S as a topper over the All-In-One, you won't regret it. If you check the thread that petraidm linked to, I finally posted some pictures.
