Default Ming Process?

Has anyone done this for their car? I did it for my WRX about 3 years ago and it seemed to make a big difference, but maybe that's just because I had to justify the $200 I spent on it.

I want to know if anyone else has done this or if they know any more about it. i'm thinking about doing it for my 2001 s2k to make it look new again.

Sounds like a claybar, heavy swirl remover/pad, and then a sealant...for $229.

That's a fair price if you don't want to do it yourself.

The thing that gets me is that they say they don't put anything on top and that your paint (clearcoat) is what is really giving you the great look... I can't believe that they're not protecting the clearcoat with anything, yet giving it a 3 year guarantee. I'd think that AT LEAST they'd put some sort of sealant with UV protection qualities on the paint... What about tar and bugs?

How did your WRX hold up? Was it really aching for a good MINGing after three years?

For $229 I'd have to agree, it sounds like a decent deal. Then disregard their advice and give it a good coat (or three) of Zaino or some other sealant after your first wash.

After the 2nd year it started to fade a little bit, but for the first two years the car looked and shined great after a wash, again, this could be a swayed opinion because I paid for it.

I did it because my dad had done it to his cars and he raved about it.

He can't explain what it is they do, but he always gets it done when he gets a new car.

Thanks for trying to explain what they do. I'm going to try NXT and some other waxes to see if I'm satisfied. If I'm not I'll put up the cash for this.

What can I say ... the kindest thing is I don't believe it!

First of all, they are absolutely right in that the secrect ot a great looking car is 90% process and 10% product. The proper prep (Clay, deswirl ...etc) before you apply a wax or sealant is essential.

Second, It sounds to me that they basically perfecting the clear coat (two stage paint) or Paint layer (Single stage paint based on their comments: "Next Ming certified MING technicians power buff your vehicle with exclusive chemicasls. " that coupled with NO ABRASIVES are used, NO WAX NO OILS to liquify or cloud.

Third, they guarantee it for three years but no where does it state what that means. So the first time you get a swirl or spider web they will redo it? Will it maintain AUTOPIAN standards for three years ... very unlikely!

Lastly, I know of folks that never wax there vehicles and if you removed the swirls their car may actually look good ... That is one of the reasons car manufacturers switched to clear coating.
