Default plastx on headights, what next?

So I used to have very hazy headlights, i ended up using plastx on them (by hand) and the results were pretty darn good. however i did notice that they became hazy after a couple of months. I found a product called meguiar's headlight protectant thats supposed to be used after plastx. I tried this (by hand) but its been about 2 months and my headlights are starting to get hazy again. I think the protectant did help, since the headlights are not nearly as hazy as they would have been without them.

is there any solution as to how i can keep them clear? or would i always have to re polish them with plastx every few months?

would the wetsanding method be more effective? or would i need a bodyshop to spray some clear coat over the lights after theyre cleared?

btw i dont have an orbital polisher like a porter cable yet, so ive been doing all this by hand

I can't really help, I have the same issue (more on my tacoma than on the s) I have just gotten used to hitting the headlights with plastx every couple months (3-4 months). I use the mini power ball and a drill which seems to work a lot better than by hand, and only takes a couple minutes to do the giant headlights on my tacoma.

I'd like an answer to this as well. I used my pc on mine a few month ago and they looked great at first, but it slowly came back again..

I have always used 2000grit with a foam block, then cutting compound, glaze and wax. Have you tried a headlight restore kit, they use the same pricipal but probably are better than my method.

The only way to keep it nice and clear is to get them clear coated. If you can't get that done, you can use sealant or wax on them after plastx. I've found that to help keep it clear for a longer period of time.

I'm lazy, I just use the plastx on the headlights everytime I re-apply rain X to the windshield. The plastx takes like 15 min total, so I don't mind doing it every other month.

I just use the Plastx (by hand) after every wash. Seems to be doing the job just fine.I guess it could be a bit inconvenient but it has been working out pretty well so far.
