Default Polishing the windshield...

I've got the Autoglym windshield polish, and a brand new winshield, so, i don't want to scratch it by any means, but I don't have a porter cable.

So the best method would be, left to right, or top to bottom? And def. not circular I imagine.....

and i keep hearing that some of you guys put Zaino on the windshield as well? Would this be a good combo with autoglym or ?

thanks again, damn rainy season and I realized it's not just my wipers.

woops- just noticed that you are using autoglym... it does not require as much effort as most polishes. i am editing this and the following is my original post before i realized which product you were using.
most of my original post is still o.k.- but autoglym can be worked without the effort of most other polishes.
-----------
pc is by far the best choice... i would post up a thread in your local forum- someone has one you can use! offer to supply product if someone else supplies the machine.

and you are right on- dont polish in circles...
just like on the painted parts

zaino is fine as a topper after the polish. it helps keep off water spots, etc.

if you end up doing it by hand, be sure to really work the stuff- your hand and arm should be really sore or you arent doing it right!
and the final hint- you might want to learn on a small area (say the lower 1' square passenger side) before doing the entire glass.
good luck and post back your experiences-

I used my PC on my windshield at full speed and it was awesome afterwards.

Autoglym + PC worked really well for me too. I think whatever method/pattern you want to use when doing it by hand should be fine.

Auto Glym Glass Polish is indeed a fantastic product, howewver in between "major" polishes, use the "fast glass" product as a topper-upper.

Also if out on the road for a long day and bugs and stuff get on the windscreen carry Fast Glass with you for "emergency" windscreen pit stop cleans

cool, thanks guys. But just to verify: Side to side motions vs. Top to bottom, won't make a difference or ?

I have never found a difference to have any significant effect and just stay with top to bottom in line with the rest of the car.

I have some deep scratches from trying to get out a cooked egg, used a dishwashing sponge. Would this autoglym stuff cover it up? Are there any other good products for filling in the million pits and scratches I have?
