Default Removing Front Air Dam

Can anyone tell me how hard it is to remove the front air dam? I scratched the heck out of it, way beyond polishing it out and I'm afraid most bodyshop'll wind up getting overspray on the rest of the car. Is it a nightmare or should I just cover it with a Colgan bra and wait till I really bash it?

do you mean the front bumper? (its a one piece that includes the headlights)- not that hard to remove... especially if you have another owner friend (or someone in your local club) who has cleared his headlights (he would know how to do it).
and you might want to check on aftermarket pieces for price comparo- the part is fairly expensive as i recall.

Yes I do mean the front bumper. I haven't bashed it to pieces just scratched it really well. The headlights are attached to it? Oh this is getting too involved already. I assume you have to reaim the lights afterward? How tough is that?

What do you mean by "clearing the headlights?"

first try an aggressive polish with a porter cable on those scratches- chances are you can minimize them

headlights do not usually have to be reaimed after pulling them. and you do not have to pull them to pull the bumper- but to pull the lights you have to pull the bumper, which is why i suggest finding someone who has cleared their lights!

clearing headlights means taking out the amber diffuser...

my car with cleared headlights (the color you see is the amber bulbs):

Just took a look at the headlights and I don't see an amber diffuser. The 2004 lights look different from yours (VERY nice car Dude, love it in black!).
Does your 2000 2000 have xenon low beams?

Possibily the air dam/headlights remove differently?

thx for the props!

and you are right- the new ones do not have the same diffusers. but the car had them up until a couple years ago and many of us have done this (which is why i suggested finding someone who has done it cause they would have dropped the front end).

pretty sure that the front end still comes off the same (its the area below the lights). and the bulbs are h.i.d. (high intensity discharge)-
