Default Soft Top Cleaner?

I was wondering if there's any cleaning product that can be applied to the soft top by just spraying and letting it dry? I know they have similar products for shoes where you just spray the foam and dry. BTW, I've read that 303 product is best for the soft top. Can you find that cleaner at any autostare, i.e. Pepboys, Kragen's Autoparts, Sears, etc..?

not a good idea, as overspray is likely to get on the paint...
303 is one of the products that we like for the top- you can get it at most auto detail places (including those at the top of this board).

Thanks for the information. So you're saying that I can use car soap for the top also? Or is that different from car shampoo?

yup, a good quality car soap (shampoo) works on the top... a brush is the best cleaning tool to accompany it, imo.

I agree with wanabe. I use the 303 cleaner/protectant combo and have gotten great results. I just spray the cleaner on and use a soft brush to agitate, then finish with the protectant. My top still looks brand new.

I agree too! Typically I just use the same soapy water I use on the car and a soft brush to work it up. I only use the 303 cleaner when I want to remove the uneven layers of protecant on the top. The primary resaons I don't use it more often are:
1) I'm cheap
2) The normal car wash solution does a gret job of keeping the top clean.
