touch up paint
is there a way to get off touch up paint. i put a little on a chip and it wasnt good so i smeared it a little and i cant get it off with detailing spray. any suggestions?
Sounds like clay bar might work if there's not too much paint. I've used a claybar in the past with minor overspray and it worked. The touch-up paint is sitting on top of your clearcoat.
p.s. I clayed my Civic HB last night and I had some paint on it (from another car rubbing it?!) and clay took it right off.

I drove through the remains of an exploded semi truck tire and part of the tire hit my rear wheel. I don't know if you have tried to remove the mess from one of these incidents or not, but the black residue is very difficult to remove. I tried everything short of a strong solvent and nothing worked. Then I brought out my trusty Clay Magic clay bar and took it right off. I could hardly believe it, but it did the job.
I think that part of the secret is to always have a good coat of wax on your car's finish, too. Wheels, also.
