WTF, why am I causing "Holograms"

MF towels wont cause "holograms", just scratches if they are dirty or pick up dirt. Yes you should wash them before using.

I agree a white pad isnt meant for applying glaze. A black or blue pad is best. Also when applying glaze with a PC use a low speed, say like 2 should be fine. I have done this with sealant and a black pad before and never had an issue.

After applying the glaze, give it a little bit to start hazing over. Buff gently with a MF towel, then flip it over to a dry clean part and wipe it again. If it takes a lot of elbow grease to get it off, you probably applied too much. Do this to one panel at a time.

If you wish, after you put a coat of glaze on the whole car, you can do a wipedown with some QD.

Poor quality micro fibers can cause scratches. Technically holograms are caused from machines especially rotaries when the polish is not worked in to the fullest extent.

I have never used 3M glaze before, but I have used Meguiars Glaze before. They are similiar if I remember correctly. Just use the aforementioned advice.
