Default Question...vehicle damage

Does anyone know if you can report vehicle damage because the road is f'd up? Yesterday I was driving eastbound on La Jolla Village drive (left lane near 805) and I hit the metal girders which caused my wheel to tear up the wheel lining.

You can always try. I know some cities they will pay for damaged rims due to large potholes, so give it a go!

File a complaint with the city's Risk Management program. Here's a story about a guy who got money, although he ended up having to go to small claims court.

my friend had all 4 tires flattened by some left over spike strips from a car chase. I had her car towed and all four tires replaced. I filed a report with the Highway patrol (in this case it was their issue) and within 4 weeks I had a check for the entire balance. I say give it a go, it was not your fault and it should be paid for by them. good luck with it.

2 years ago I had a friend bend his 2 front wheels (Racing Hart C2 18's) and shread his new tires on his Integra. We were driving through Clarmont Mesa Blvd right in front of the court house where they were still doing construction (re-paving road or something). But a portion of the road was missing. From the far left all the way to the far right. There was of course the difference in levels in the road, it must of been atleast 3 inches. He went over the other end at speed limit and it was over for his wheels, it was horrible. He filed a complaint and about 1 month later he had the money from the city! So yes you can get money to fix it from them. It may take awhile but you can. Good luck!

Kind regards,
Joe

Nope!

Half of the left lane is raised like 4 inches.

Oh yeah...I think I know where you are talking about now. Did it damage anything other than the well-liner? Gotten any estimates for repair/replacement?

I was told that the dealer replacement would run roughly $250.
