returns for exchange or applicable waranties are allowed. Its more to protect us from someone wanting a return for a non legitamate reason. We are reasonable, but obviously some people have taken advantage of our past policy. As long as a person pays their duty, their are no issues generally. I would consider painting it, and of course whatever is on it would be sanded off when it's prepped. However I don't think I should have to pay for the majority of that work and paint.

My experience while ordering a hardtop from IIGQ4U (aka SIIThousand)
this is a warning to anyone planning on buying a top from him.
Before you spend $2500+, i would read this start to finish.
this is all factual information, and i have all the logs to back up everything i post here.
My top was recently cut. My s2000 is my only car.
Many of you can understand how much that sucks.
I looked around the boards and found IIGQ4U.
He mentioned he was selling tops.
We chatted through PM’s, then switched to AIM.
His screen name is “imintelligentsia”

We chatted for about an hour.
My aim keeps logs, here are the important parts of the convo.
his original price was 2500, i planned to get the top myself, so it was 2350.

He did not let the place in MD know I was coming.
In fact he said “my bad dude, it completely slipped my mind”
It happens, but cmon, this is $2300 worth of mind slipping.
He said he would call tomorrow first thing and let me know when i can get it.
woke up tomorrow. 11am. no call. 12pm. no call.
i wait a bit and i call him. voicemail. leave a message.
i wait. i call again. voicemail. leave a message again.
finally i get an email:
John,
The location with your hardtop is closed. There was no way that you
would have been able to pick up today anyway.
They will not be open until after Christmas and you will be able to
pick up at that time. I will also be able to ship the hardware since
it is ready to go.
I would prefer not to receive any phone calls as I am on vacation. I
would also appreciate no additional threads indicating that I am a

the only reason i have not canceled my order is because i really NEED my top
before the 7th (i leave the country and i wanted the rear window mounted to set)
i call back for the address. we talk, he is calmed down. he makes peace.

that is the FACTS.
now- this is my opinion from here on.
I hear it all to often how these online retailers 'forget' or 'are sorry but blahblaybh and your package will be late'. It is THEIR responsibility to stand behind their word if they gave it, it is not up to the consumer to suffer their failure to provide service as promised.
People doing business online feel like they do not have to answer to anyone because they do not see their customers face to face and can pretend a problem does not exist. I see nothing wrong with outing these sellers so as to prevent other people from suffering or prepare them for possible problems.
Now... I completely understand that issues arise. Things happen, shipping slows down.
However- there is no way he should have made the promises to me that he did.
He knows my situation. He knows i have no car.
He sympathized and assured me i would have my stuff soon.
He did not call the warehouse... he didn’t even ship the hardware.
hell, even if he wasn’t gonna ship it, at least let me know its gonna be late.
Instead, he went on vacation- leaving NO ONE behind that can get orders out- and is mad when people with $2350 unfulfilled orders contact him on vacation.
I ordered it on the 15 ,and was told I would have it all by the 21st.
No dice. Instead I got it on the 4th.
All in all..
was i scammed? no.
was i ripped off? no.

To add to jbell's experience above i also have ordered a hardtop from the same person. I was told it would be about 4 - 6 weeks before the hardtop was delivered due to back ups. That was fine and all but that was on October 5th that i was told this and ordered the top. As of December 14th I received the hardtop. It is now January 6th and I still have not received the hardware for my top. It has been 4 months now and I still do not have my completed kit. I lost my job and asked for a refund and was told he would be sending out the glass & Hardware last Tuesday, as it would cost me hundreds to resend the top. I now can not sell my hardtop because it is a incomplete kit, and i can not install it because it is incomplete.....
I went through all of this muela with this guy too...I was about to purchase because I thought he was a scammer,but I see he just tells you lies just to get his money.

Why do you guys continually buy from people who send you pm's of their stuff for sale. How many hardtops does this guy have? He is not a vendor, and it looks to me like he is trying to screw everyone, including s2ki and it's vendors.
