has s2ki gone downhill?
^^ Have you tried using Google? I just did a search for:
Here's a link to the results.
I find that given a good search string I can usually find what I need.
Try doing a search using the Search function at the top of the main forum index page. Search for "timing chain tensioner."
There will be more reduncency, but the search doesn't miss much.
Certainly there is room for improvement, but between Google and the S2kI search engine it's usually possible to find stuff, *as long as* you can come up with a good search string.

I think this forum was more informative when we knew less about the S2000. In the early years there was so much speculation about the car, how to modify it, how long it would be manufactured, 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times, etc., that the information exchanged via this group was always interesting.
I recently purchased a BMW 650 convertible (still have the S2000) and the forum over there is full of petty commentary, with very limited techical information about the car. My hats off to the creators of this forum as it has been great over the years.

After having a post just deleted, I am going to say this site and the mods are going to shittt.
When someone post a thread with the title. "Hey dont use my rims (insert name here), my reaction and post was why dont you IM him, email him or phone him. Do you think he is going to actually skip all three of those and see this wasted post?
Where is the middle finger avatar so I can give it to the mod that deleted my post.

I have said for some time now that the quality of responses and question here have gone down. I feel it coincides with the cost of the vehicle going down through the used car market. Read into that what you want, but that is what I have seen.
Having said that, S2Ki is still the 2nd website I visit (after e-mail) when I am home and the 1st website I visit when I am at work. I am on here all day when at work- not actually looking at it, but I am logged on- as well as most of the weekend. I am a Gold Member and would be a Lifetime Member if that was an option here. I love this site and will continue to visit here as often as I can- hopefully, everyday.
Is it the same site as it was 4+ years ago when I joined, no, but then it couldn't be could it? I still love S2Ki and enjoy coming here, but there isn't as much enjoyment as there was, say a year ago. And no, I don't love my car any less then I did the day I ordered it that December day back in 2001.

The post in question was from a member who has been on this site and contributed GREATLY for over 5 years. He did try to contact the other member through various means and had been unable to reach him, so was posting in a last ditch effort to reach him in a timely manor.
Your response was rude and insulting to him and was rapidly declining into an e-Fight so I stopped the fighting AND PMed you about it.
BTW -- This was less than two weeks after you posted a topic LAUGHING at another long term member who had rolled his S2000 on the track after a catastrophic brake failure.
BBTW -- Didn't you get banned from Honda-tech? Of all places, how the heck does one get banned from HT!?
That's like getting throne out of Vegas for gambling too much.If there is always so much negative reaction in the threads you are in, maybe it's not EVERY ONE ELSE on the site, but perhaps yourself? Just a thought.

with xviper leaving and my personal observations, it begs the question what has been happening to the s2k community in past few years. for one, owner's ages seem to have been going down.

[QUOTE=RED MX5,Oct 27 2006, 07:44 PM]Maybe I read too much into the posts, but ever since I started hanging out here, there have been guys complaining about the falling prices of used S2000s, and the "problems" that it (supposedly) brings to our forums.
