has s2ki gone downhill?
I personally dont think he makes enough. This site provides many people, myself included THOUSANDS of dollars in savings. Is that not worth $100 dollars a year? $200 a year? It is to me. I can guarantee you that the members who have had systems installed by me for free, will gladly pay $200 for a year of s2ki, since they met me on it, and I saved them $1000 in install costs. Save with people who have access to people like billman....a person who can smell you car, and know whats wrong with it...not some idiot dealer that has to rip the engine out to tell you that your rotors are warped. How about the people who have had things powdercoated by me for free? Without s2ki, they would have never met me, and would have to pay a shop $150++++ for the free work that I did.
Trust me, being a member of this site, your $50 dollars a year will QUICKLY earn themselves back, 5 times over.

I hope this doesn't turn into a topic about money because it's not about that and I didn't respond with the intention of discussing it. We were talking about the quality and usefulness of the site and it's members.
I appreciate the lead-in, it went totally over my head

It would be to everyone's benefit who comes to this community to make it just that - communal. I'd love to buy everyone a copy of the book "Crucial Conversations" and pay them to read it. We need more civility, facts without flame, and, dare I say, brotherly kindness wrapped around our common love of a fabulous example of automobile artistry.
This community is ultimately what each of us makes of it, but collectively we can continue to make it the best automotive site on the web!
MAS
P.S. www.crucialconversations.com - you will NOT be disappointed.

Having been the president of another car club before, and moderating the forum entirely by myself, I feel that S2ki is in perfect health. You will always have newbie questions. Always. You should feel encouraged to help them out. Even if you feel that a question has been asked a zillion times, remember back to when you had a question...those that were smartasses were ignored by you, but when that one guy answered your question, you thanked him, and now almost feel as if they are a friend, in an online anonymous sort of way. I go out of my way to try to help anyone I can, especially in the monstrosity thread of 230rwhp over in JDM tuning...
I'm nobody special in this organization, but I take personal pride in helping others. Many members local to me have my cell phone number, and I'm constantly on the phone with them helping them out, with whatever it is. We should all act as if we are older brothers and sisters to anyone new...take them under your wing. Help them. Let them know when they are wrong, but prove WHY, and do it with tact.
I will be providing a step-by-step with pictures on a full ITB install and setup, along with my maps, here in about 2 or 3 weeks. Pick a project and do a writeup on it. That way, when the inevitable newb question comes around asking about it, you can link them directly to their answer, and they'll feel welcome and encouraged by the immediate wealth of information you just provided to them.
And as for those that continually cause trouble, that's why they make haterblockers
...and one more note before I get off this soapbox...RACER, you have GOT to find a new hobby bro....you KNOW what I'm talking about!!
I'm on to your shenanigans
