Positive Search Experience
All I ever hear are bad things about the search feature on S2KI.
About two weeks ago I started getting a whining noise from the rear of my S. I immediately jumped to the conclusion that my diff was going to give out imminently. I changed the diff fluid twice looking for metal but never found anything. I looked up "diff whine" in the search and found a couple threads where it came up but all of the people who had blown rears also had clunking and chattering noises to go along with metal shavings. In the third thread I picked out, someone had a whine at the rear that turned out to be a simple wheel bearing and hub. There situation was very similar to mine and changing the bearing and hub would only cost about $150. I figured I would changing those to see if that would fix it. Well during the small snow we just had in Jersey I put the car on stands and changed the bearing, it had split the casing. There was nothing wrong with the hub so that stayed. I took it out for a drive, and like magic, the whine was gone.
Thanks guys for all the hard work you put in that often goes unnoticed. The new search has just saved me easily more than a $1000. I shall put it toward future memberships.

I'll tease a little, the search is just proof of concept, good enough to work better than the old search did. The search is a test for some very significant changes which probably aren't obvious or meaningful but important beyond just search. Now that I know it works well and have enough experience to know where the potholes are the "real" search is coming hopefully not too far down the road.
