Oh I am the same way, I freak out about people working on my car. I picked up my car today, he said the valves were all within spec, but he didn't say I was crazy for wanting them looked at. He says he typically does the valve jobs around 25k miles so he isn't your average honda tech.

I've been told by a lot of the local guys that he does good work so I'm going to trust his judgement. He does all the s2000 work for Rick Case Honda apparantly. He even took a few pics of him checking the valves for my piece of mind. He said all the retainers look fine as well. He said there was no movement and they were all were they should have been. I forget what exactly but he said something had a slight blue-ish color to it, but it was nothing abnormal.

There was another ap2 there that he said truly did need a valve adjustment and it was much noiser than mine. I guess I'm just not used to Honda drivetrains, but I'm going to quit freaking out about it. To many people (and mechanics) have told me its normal so I gotta start sleeping again, lol.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll definitely attend the next tech day and adjust them anyway. I'd be willing to help host one as well, the space anyway, lol.

Yep, it will be at least a couple of months before I can host another tech day. But, I will host one!
At least mid-May or later.

Time Flys!

My weekends are filled with car events / household chores until Saturday June 17 (the day before father's day). However, now that the semester is over I have free time during the week. Please see this link.
