I agree with you, going turbo does not automatically mean you will have lag, Evo can upgrade to pretty much 3 or 4 diff turbos(20g,garret 3070,50trim) and still outperform most cars at any local auto cross event. I wouldn't say put a 35r on the s2k if your overall goal is to autocross. We are forgetting this set up is for Agi and her main purpose for more power is to beat my evo
Just spray girl you will have me
. She doesn't drag the car she just wants something with more power so no1 messes with her like oh its a slow honda (cocky drivers).
btw: ams, buschur evos are 500whp or more and kick ass in almost every circuit event now 500whp thats a 35r and some other power mods, i guess the lag still is not that big of a deal if they still get 1st place.

I am considering Autox though... and not its not to beat your evo... I know yours dominate mines by far... I just like to mess with you once and awhile... but I may take lessons from Scooter or Dr MR(I think thats his sn...jeff(hot evo)) on the autox thing considering they do it all the time
But I think the Bolt on SC would be fine with me... its bolt on and doesn't require the high maintence a turbo would

Make sure you let your Girl know what Nitrous does to her cylinder walls and her pistons rings and how after time you will need to take the block apart to fix the internal damage. But hey dont take my word for it, Trial and error right......

From what i saw with the guys here a SC is a great start, is not "that expensive" and still runs smooth in low RPM's, as long you have a good installer/TUNER you can even use your stock clutch, a better clutch though may help, + better tires, now if you throw an intercooler you'l put more power, there's a cool video here
video
that pretty much shows the differences, i think a basic supercharger is more than enough, i mean, is not like you gonna race cars every single day since your S is cour commuter car, =), but as far as i know if you have your car FI you'll need to tune often to keep it running good/smooth.

let's consider starting with a new comptech or vortech kid... they're like $5k new or something give or take. now a turbo kit in a similar price range is the inline pro kit at ~$4k
both are going to need:
engine management - to properly tune for both systems it'd be best to go with an aem ems or some kind of managament... price doesn't differ for sc or turbo
tuning/dyno time - both would need it
fuel system - the sc kits don't come with an intank pump but the inline pro does but either way a walbro is $100... no biggie. injectors will be the same for either setup as well.
gauges, electronics, etc - both will need the same stuff except with a turbo car u'd need a boost controller... **** it run a manual one for like $75
clutch... yeah you can get away with a stocker with an s2000 but i wouldn't even bother staying with something stock.
there maybe other things but that's how it appears to me. both cars u'll need to check up on stuff from time to time. so it's not like one requires more maintenance than the other.

I'd also have to disagree with a SC being "not that expensive." To do either setup can vary in costs but the SC i don't think is any less. to do either setup right... you still need the same supporting mods.

But everytime I read about it time and time again... everyone does say SC is easier maintence(granted some maintence is needed on both)... plus Turbo requires more items being exchanged on the engine while SC is more of a bolt on kit... probably yes something need to be upgraded but for the most part sc is better overall in maintence??
Agree, 4K to start is not cheap but i always had the sensation that turbos even though are around the same price (of course much more power=more $$ in the end), they end up costing much more since you need to work with other extras such internals/fuel management etc etc, a comptech supercharger can be found @ around 3.900 but yeah expect $5K installed (with all the necessary hardware) and tuned etc etc ... oh boy .. i whish i had the money .. but if i had the optino i'd install a SC thoug.

maybe on a poorly tuned motor. but any additional stress can/will wear a motor faster. i've ran nitrous on my car (one of my other cars) back in the day for months. going thru a lot of bottles, bunch of passes @ the track, hitting it on the street out of boredom, etc. then i went boost on the same motor for another year. when i took the motor apart the rings, ringlands, and cylinder walls were fine.
