Default 5W-50 Engine Oil

hey guys, i wanted to know how good 5W-50 synthetic performance oil would be in my S2k. I use to drive in the GTA and i recently moved my S2k to India and to my knowledge its the only one in India.

I am told 5W-50 is high performance and is recommended if i drive my car hard.. so if u guys could help with some feedback, that would be great.

Thanks !

i dont think you can put 5w50 in the f20 or f22. Well, you shouldn't anyway.
Just did a search for 5w50 and found the answer very quickly.

According to what i've researched, 5W-50 is a lot thicker than what is recommended. You can run it but 10W-30 does the job fine and you dont need to do a whole lot more. Thought I'd post this up incase anyone in the future wants to refer to using 5W-50 ...

The shipping cost was'nt much. I used a 20ft. container that also had household goods in it (coz the S2K only took up 14ft) and I costed me I think $4500 including insurance. The real b***h was the customs and duty that I had to pay to get the car released.

even when the oil is up to temp is it too thick! Too wide spread of viscosity, there is no way I would put a 50 in my car.

I'm sure there is different types of oil in India, but if you can't find a 10w30 or equivalent, you might want to mail order or you should have put a bunch on that container of yours.

Unless your running some serious performance mods i would stick with the manufacture recommended which is 10W30. IMO a 50 weight oil would be too much and unnecessary.

I run with the 5w40 back when I was driving in the winter....now that I don't I"ll probably go back to the 10w30

The 5w40 was great though.
