lower fork? ball bearing?
Hmm, well the clutch fork will pop out of the housing allowing you to grease the two mounting points, and by ball bearing you mean the ball that goes into the socket?
Yes it is a pain in the ass the first time, but totally worth it imo. Also, you can grab a small paint brush and you can shine a light into where the fork goes and grease the spline (I believe it is) if your really feeling adventurous. Makes for silky smooth shifting along with taking away most of the clutch pedal play and a fresh bleed of the master cylinder.

It goes like this, Slave casing -> piston -> ball bearing in the piston -> push rod with ball head (rubber jacket) -> clutch fork with ball socket.
Greasing the spline would be awesome but you'd need a head/hands of a 3 year old in order to see
